I hope that everyone had a fantastic holiday season and this post finds you all well. I know that for us, the holidays went by way too fast and I feel like my head is still spinning a little from it. But, I must push on and try to put some organization and order into my life! Those of you that know me well enough, know that I am constantly striving to be organized and always fall short. But, this year I am going to try my hardest to simplify things in all aspects of my life. That's my word for the year...SIMPLIFY. It has a nice ring to it!
I started with my magazines this weekend. I went through the ones I have hanging around and tore out the pages that I wanted to keep, which surprisingly weren't too many. And while I sit at home watching the snow with my sick bubby today, I have deleted all 6000 (yes, really there were 6000!) emails that were sitting in my inbox. WOOHOO!!
I am not sure about you, but the new year didn't start off the way I wanted it to. Our year started out with the terrible death of a close friend, one of my best friends falling and hurting herself something awful, Reesie getting over bronchitis which resulted in me getting bronchitis, Lee getting the stomach flu and now bubby with strep:(.
It's funny how life works that way. I always want this and that to be a certain way and when it doesn't turn out my way, I am always so disappointed. But, I know that God has a plan for all of us. And I should be more flexible. One of my very good friends, Lyndsey, told me that I am a perfectionist. How dare her, right?? I thought that she was crazy at first because while she is telling me this, we are sitting in my living room with toys strewn about and both of my kids running around, fighting and tearing up the house. I looked at her and asked if she was kidding me?! LOL. But, as she explained to me the many reasons I am one, I began to realize she was right. I am a control freak. I always want my way. Things have to be perfect and if they aren't I either give up or get mad. So, I need to let those things go. Thanks, Lyndsey:)
I have quite a few resolutions that I will be working on this year and will be updating the status of some while on my way:) The big one is my running my half marathon in April. Yay!
Anyway, I have rambled on and on about silly little things. It[s time for the important things...the kids:)
Look at how big they have gotten!
